what a great idea. whenever i go on vacation, i always run out of books before the vacation is over. that will never happen again! talk about instant gratification.

Love it, but no backlight

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She is an avid reader and cycles through books at a ridiculously rapid rate.
Our only complaint is the lack of a backlight on the screen. We had to purchase a separate book light for her. |

I love my Kindle it is my first time using a kindle i love that i can get a book within seconds to read it very addictive. They need to do better on organizing the books on the kindle so we can categorize the books that we read and the ones we haven't few things can be better here and there nothing major but i love mines convenient to bring and store however amount of books you like.
My PDF files that are books wish i can read them better words are too fine at times and it takes some getting use to. |
Europe is still behind

I love my Kindle for the reasons of:
carrying a lot of books with little weight
using Instapaper to read my blogs
being able to highlight stuff
But I don't like it that:
In Europe where I live I cannot use my wifi internet!!
I can buy LESS books than in the USA
I cannot subscribe to blogs or newspapers...
:-(
I hope Amazon will fix this asap.

I am in a radio semi-dead spot so getting new titles can be a bind, but after repositioning Kindle OK. Not for use by technophobes, driving it might be easier! On my fourth book no problems other than one that was soon fixed by the support team over the phone(finger trouble).
